COLEMAN LATEST

03/08/16

Sky sources: Chris Coleman remains interested in talking to Hull about their managerial vacancy.

We reported on Tuesday that the Football Association of Wales had rejected an approach from the Tigers to speak to the man who guided his country to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Giggs to take over Wales....
Bellamy to be number 2 at Hull.

Will Coleman saga rumble on?

The FAW might have taken a firm stance on Chris Coleman yesterday by refusing permission to allow Hull City to speak to the Welsh manager about the vacancy at their club.

But Coleman is still in the frame to become the new Hull City boss and now Coleman would like permission to speak to Hull City according to BBC Radio Humberside’s David Burns

I think you're right Nukes unfortunately.

Personally I wouldn't want Ryan Giggs anywhere near the Welsh national team.

Chris Coleman wants Hull City job despite Wales' reluctance to let their man discuss club football return

Daily Mail

03/08/16

Hull chief Ehab Allam - son of owner, Assem - and club secretary Matt Wild are set to go back to the FAW and seek permission to talk to Coleman on the understanding he wants the job.

Sources close to the Welsh camp had expected their boss - who took them to the last four of Euro 2016 - to resist any offers of a route back into club management and instead lead the Dragons into their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
But we understand that Coleman is keen to hold further talks with Hull and wants a return to the English top-flight some nine years after being sacked by Fulham.

If he really wants to, then let him go. Hull need to pay compo, of course. No point hanging onto him if he wants to be somewhere else.

If he wants to become journeyman manager, then Hull is the right place to start.

If I were him, I would stay with Wales but if he thinks that Hull is his destiny then who can stop him.

Does he not believe that he can continue progressing with Wales?

Does he believe that he could progress with Hull?

I doubt his stock will get any higher than it will now but Hull aren't exactly an attractive club at the moment.

Great play by FAW. If he wants to go let him resign. Financially the best way to play it.

As for Coleman, no qualms about him getting benefit from our Euro campaign but Hull CITY is a very short sighted move and he will be gone before the seasons out if they are anywhere near the bottom.

Not bothered if he goes

He is going to totally regret doing this now my choice would be Pulis for Wales.

No idea why he'd want to leave Wales on the high their on now before the world cup qualifiers. Hes got chance to make history for the second time.

What's he got with hull? Another relegation battle on his cv at a small rugby town. Even if Wales don't qualify for world cup he'd still get a prem job. Beats me.

This is a bit of a low-blow from Coleman if he would rather manage Hull City than Wales.

For all of the good things we have had to say about him he could be about to throw a lot of it out of the window by taking the first scent of money he's had in a while.

If he does leave, I'd consider Roberto Martinez, Craig Bellamy or Paul Trollope as manager.

If he wants to go then he would go with all my best wishes. It is hard to see how he could possibly top last summer with Wales because getting to the semi-finals was well beyond any expectation.

Ryan Giggs would seem an obvious choice providing he can turn up for friendlies. ;)

If Cookie goes now he will probably be Wales' greatest ever manager for decades. I think he sees a Wales type scenario with Hull in that he hopes to galvanise a small club to over achieve in the PL.

Personally I think he should have held out for a better offer but from a Wales perspective a clean break would be better now than later.

Fair question: Could anyone really blame him, if he went? :?

Personally, even as no big fan of international football, I believe Chris Coleman should stay and complete the job he has started. He has done exceptionally well and has the Welsh players on board. A little more appreciation from the FAW (in contract terms) now they simply cannot use the financial excuses of previous years might just help

On the whole, I believe it would be the wrong club at the wrong time but (and maybe this is the thing) regardless of whether he goes to Hull City Yo-Yo's or not, he appears to be putting it out there that he 'could' be available to the right approach whilst his stock (and therefore earning potential) is so high! ;)

He'd be stupid to leave for a club that's gonna get relegated. Stay with Wales we should qualify for the next World Cup have a decent tournent and then he will have much better options than modern day yo-yo clubs like Hull

I see what your saying mate and that probably would be his idea (assuming he actually is open to it)

However, i just think he should stay and take us the next step to the world cup. We'll still be underdogs and group stages or knock puts his stock will still be high! It's not like he's never managed at PL level...

I'm a bit surprised that he's interested to be honest.

Is it money? Is it ego?

Does he actually believe he can turn Hull into a footballing force in the Premier League or is he desperate to take a job, any job in the Premier League?

He said recently that he wanted to manage a club that was challenging for Champions League and for that reason he felt he would have to look at clubs abroad - I'm not sure that Hull will be in the mix for CL any time soon.

Strange one.

Whatever he does, got to give him respect for what he done. Be good to see him carry on pushing the success but if he wants to challenge himself in the Prem then good luck to him. :tandragon:
