' FAW STATEMENT ON CHRIS COLEMANS FUTURE '

The FAW stance on Coleman

This is the strong FAW stance on Chris Coleman and the reports he has been approached by Hull City...

The simple fact of the matter is that there is a contract in place. “He shouldn’t be speaking to anybody else and they most definitely should not be speaking to Chris without coming to us first for permission. “Hull have not approached us. I know Chris very well, have done for many years since he was coming through the ranks with Swansea, and we fully expect him to be in charge through the World Cup qualifying campaign. “This is not the time for the good work to stop. We have just had wonderful success at the Euros, but we need to kick on. Chris knows what that means - qualifying for the 2018 World Cup and that’s what he is aiming for.

Chris Coleman future to become clearer

The other big story emerging over the weekend was Wales boss Chris Coleman being wanted by Hull.

There were two reports from local media in Hull that suggested Coleman had already been approached, but the FAW insisted no official contact has been made whatsoever.

The bookies have Coleman as the clear favourite following the reports, and it seems he is the Premier League side’s number one choice.

The latest suggestions are Hull want to make a decision on their new boss in the next 24 hours so there should be movement one way or the other, with Roberto Martinez the other name heavily linked.

The media are now reporting that Zola has now been approached by Hull about the job. Hope this is right.

Hull City turn to Zola?

Perhaps some good news for Wales fans as reports emerge Gianfranco Zola has been approached to become the new manager of Hull City.

Sky sports Italia are reporting the out-of-work Italian is in discussions with the Premier club.

It comes as the FAW denied there had been any approach for Chris Coleman , despite the Welshman being installed as odds-on favourite by the bookies.
