All the transfer news, predictions and odds ahead of Cardiff City's 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Last year's finish: 8th

Manager: Paul Trollope

Title odds: 33/1

First five games: Birmingham (A), QPR (H), Blackburn (H), Fulham (A), Reading (H)

Players In: Frederic Gounongbe (Westerlo, Free), Jazz Richards (Fulham, Player Exchange), Kenneth Zohore (KV Kortrijik, Undisclosed)

Players Out: Scott Malone (Fulham, Player Exchange), Ben Turner (Burton Albion, Free)

Expectation: Cardiff performed well on a restricted budget last season and despite having a new man at the helm, we have a group of players who have been together for a couple of years now. There's a good standard in the squad and more importantly, there are four or five match winners. The Bluebirds should be confident about securing a play-off place this season but the quality of teams coming down from the Premier League means automatic will be a big ask.

Most Important player: We don't have standout players but when Lex Immers joined on loan last season, he completely changed the focus of our play and he can make a difference this term.

Cardiff are a solid side, full of experience but they might just lack a goalscorer to get them into the top-six. They’ll win plenty of games though.

Ian Holloway
Dark horse? Bristol City

One Championship player you'd want to sign? Ross McCormack

Ollie's prediction: 8th

Think he's spot on with his lack of top goalscorer could cost us play offs AGAIN
