It's the boost your pension league same as MLS (as if any of them need it). But the Chinese are mad for a few famous faces and pack the stadiums, merchandise etc

TBF the MLS has moved past that point big name are going there at earlier sat ages of their career such as Giovinco and they are producing some good youngsters it will take them a while but it wouldn't suprise me to see the same with china in a decade or so's time. At least it woul make the Fifa club World Cup more relevant then,
