BARNSLEY FANS TODAY - A Real Credit

Fri Jul 29, 2016 6:12 pm

A CREDIT TO FOOTBALL & THIER CLUB

A group of Barnsley fans traveled to North London today and restored the grave of their club founder, Reverend Preedy.

Reverend Tiverton Preedy founded Barnsley in 1887 and secured the very site that Oakwell Stadium sits on to this day. It was through his passion, enthusiasm and commitment that the Reds came into existence and has gone on to become what it is today.

Well done lads - you've done the Reverend and club proud.

Well done. As you say, a real credit to themselves and their club.

I remember many years ago a group of City fans doing a similar thing for our founder, Bartley Wilson, at Western cemetery, Ely.

I have visited his grave many times over the years, but the last time I visited I thought it could do with some restoration.
