' Cardiff City's New Striker '

Cardiff City's New Striker Frédéric Gounongbeis adapting and may well have that magic eye for goal.

Sunday 24th July 2016

The Beninese striker arrived as a bit of an unknown quantity and we're still trying to piece together exactly what his best role is.

He can be quite erratic at times and played some fairly poor passes, while there isn't a great deal in terms of pressing and engaging centre-backs on the ball.

And yet. It's two in three appearances this season for the new recruit and he was in exactly the right place to convert Fabio's cross for the opening goal of the tournament.

It's clear, too, that he is Peter Whittingham's main target from set-pieces and he certainly seems to enjoy attacking the ball from those scenarios.

For a new player settling to a completely new environment, it's a more than decent start.

Tony, his wage I believe are quarter of Kenwyne Jones's.

Looked ok yesterday, could have nicked another one or two if he had an extra yard in him off the mark. Should have hit the target with that header which hit the post too. He doesn't challenge for headers as aggressively as I'd have thought. A few GK kicks he actually ducked down for some reason.

seems like he has an eye for goal done more in two games than acon done the whole time he was with us and didn't cost 8 million

He looks decent so poor passes but holds the ball up well at times. Prefer him to zohore at this time. It was zohore who should have scored a simple header

Think your getting confused with Zahore

He looks very powerful, holds the ball up well and good in the air. Time will tell if he's good enough for the championship. Zahore and him and both suited for that lone man role but I still feel we need another striker
