Manchester United will look to finalise a world record £110m transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus this week.

Manchester City are ready to kickstart the bidding for John Stones this week with Everton expecting a £50m offer.

West Ham have placed an £18m price tag on starlet defender Reece Oxford who is attracting interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.

Everton have agreed a £25m fee with Zenit St Petersburg for Axel Witsel and are waiting for the Belgium international to commit to their contract offer.

'ARSENAL TO SPEND £75M'

Arsenal are planning to spend up to £75million to bring both Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates, according to the Daily Mirror.

Manager Arsene Wenger wants to increase his striking options and said earlier this week that he’s willing to “spend big” to strengthen his squad.

Leicester winger Mahrez, voted Player of the Year by footballers' union the PFA last season, scored this goal against Celtic last night. Well worth a watch.

TOURE DEAL 'DONE ON SUNDAY'

Kolo Toure should complete his move to Celtic on Sunday, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

Toure arrived in Glasgow on Saturday for a medical and will become the new manager's second signing, although Rodgers does not anticipate having the defender available for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier at Astana.

"I would think Wednesday would be too soon," Rodgers said. "We will probably look towards the weekend, give him game-time against Barcelona [on Saturday] and assess where he is at.

West Ham have placed an £18m price tag on defender Reece Oxford who is attracting interest from Manchester City and Manchester United, the Mail on Sunday reports.

Newly-promoted Bundesliga club Red Bull Leipzig have already made a £10m offer for the 17-year-old, but it was rejected by Hammers co-chief executive David Sullivan.

Everton are weighing up a £12.5m bid for Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi with John Stones set to move to Manchester City, reports The Sun on Sunday.

The left-back has made 71 appearances for the Portuguese side since joining from Feyenoord in July 2014.

POGBA DEAL 'CLOSE'

Manchester United will look to finalise a world record £110million transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus this week, according to the Daily Mail.

The France international was the subject of a £85m bid from United with Sky in Italy revealing Pogba has already agreed personal terms with his former club.

Talks are reportedly expected to step up this week with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola due to fly to Miami to meet with his client.

Sam Allardyce is set to appoint Sammy Lee as his England assistant manager, according to a number of reports in the English press.

Lee was most recently part of Southampton's coaching set-up, and could be joined under Allardyce by former Derby boss Paul Clement.

Mike Phelan has confirmed he wants to be Hull's next manager after telling Sky Sports News HQ: "Watch this space."

And he told the Hull Daily Mail: "I want to be a manager. I don't really see why I shouldn't want to be a manager. Time will tell. That decision doesn't sometimes come down to you.

"I've had a small chat and I was asked if I would carry on being in charge for now. We have games, we have preparations, we've still got three weeks to go."

Phelan is in temporary charge following Steve Bruce's departure and is Sky Bet's favourite to succeed his former boss on a permanent basis.

SIGNINGS HAVE GERS IMPACT

Rangers have made nine signings this summer so far as they prepare for live back in the Scottish Premiership and Gers midfielder Jason Holt believes the new arrivals have helped the existing squad to improve their game.

"We have brought in new players and the level has been really high. That will result in standards rising," he told The Scottish Sun.

"I think the players who were here last season have taken it up a notch."

Riyad Mahrez is the talk of the transfer columns this morning and he's 8/15 to leave Leicester for Arsenal with Sky Bet, who bet 11/8 that he stays put.

Man City and Chelsea are next at 14/1 and 16s respectively with Real Madrid among those at 33/1.
