Swansea City's new American owner Jason Levien appears to have bought straight away into the club's traditional rivalry with Cardiff City.

As he was unveiled to the Welsh media with the takeover deal having gone through, Levien was asked specifically about foreign ownership in the Premier League.

He replied: "I can tell you one thing, we will not change the colours!"


That, of course, could be seen by some as a cheeky pop at the Bluebirds' Malaysian owner Vincent Tan, who controversially changed Cardiff's shirts to red.

couldn't agree more, we aren't even on Swansea's radar, never mind in their thoughts, if the whole thing was reversed and we had new owners then we'd be saying, these guys are alright, its just to win their fans over,. our fans love to think we are still somehow bigger or even in the same league (metaphorically) as them but we aren't, I think they were just trying to show they are good guys, keep fans onside, because Tan really did destroy something within the club, and many will say "yes, but hes making amends" well no, because the damage is already done. I think for a lot of fans, the reason they fell in love with the club has totally gone, and as peoples wages get smaller and money gets tighter, Cardiff will suffer more.

Regardless, Tan managed to turn this club into a joke. I agree with your theory actually but we should never be in a position where other chairmen are openly having a go at us, it's not the first time we have been referenced by new owners as something they aren't going to do.

He is trying to get the Jacks on side, who can blame him for saying it.. we would do the same.

But I am not phased by it, that was then and we are here now.. Back in blue and everything is going positive, VT and the board finally clicked past year or so and now what a football club is about.. call it what you want but working with the fans more and more and the season ticket prices... getting us stable financially. We are moving forward and progressing.
