BREAKING NEWS " SAM ALLARDYCE "

BBC

Wednesday 20th July 2016

Sam Allardyce will be named as the new England manager - with confirmation expected in the next 24 hours.

Allardyce will leave Sunderland after nine months at the Premier League club.

The 61-year-old replaces Roy Hodgson, who resigned after the surprise defeat by Iceland at this summer's Euro 2016 finals in France.

Allardyce, a former West Ham, Newcastle and Bolton boss, spoke to the Football Association last week and has been chosen ahead of Hull's Steve Bruce.

Both Sunderland and Hull had urged the FA to act quickly, with the new Premier League season less than a month away.

Allardyce was interviewed for the England job following Sven-Goran Eriksson's departure after the 2006 World Cup but Steve McClaren was appointed.

His first competitive game in charge is scheduled to be a World Cup qualifier in Slovakia on 4 September.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe and USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann had also been linked with the job this summer.

Allardyce will become the 15th permanent England boss as the pinnacle of a managerial career that started with Blackpool in 1994 and has taken in 467 Premier League games - behind only Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp.

he's a very capable club manager, but the scrutiny managing the english national team is on another level to any premier league job.

the english national team should always be managed by an englishman and i think he'll do as well as any foreign coach would have done.

The British media ruin their managers before they've even started.

I believe that's one of thier biggest problems, the English fans high expectations is due to the hype built up about the team, each tournament and every half decent player by the so called expert press.

If they were actually honest about the English squads ability but backed the manager and the players then I reckon they may qualify out of the group stage next time

Next England manager.

Remember when he was Notts County manager and he got sent to the stands for protesting too much against us. Can't remember the score but sure we won the game. Remember it was pissing down all game though.

Anyone else remember this game. :?: :bluescarf:

I like Sam, as he's one of the games great characters. I think he's been brought on board to basically shout some sense into the deluded over-paid & over-egoed inappropriatly tattooed tossbags that have somehow made it to the to the spoilt top-fight of the English game. Good luck with getting them to play for the shirt mate, you'll need it. They clearly don't care and won't anytime soon.

Apparently, his new England ProZone app has just two sections:
1- "Kick 'Him"
2- "Get Rid"

Wise words.

Top appointment for me.

Ruthless in selection, he knows what England need and the way the fans want to see them.

They ain't a country need to work on Philosophy as they are a country who have high expectations from media and fans.. they need passion and fighting on the pitch.
