If we go 5-3-2 next year which looks very likely, where is our one out and out Winger Craig Noone going to fit into this system??
Can't see how he will apart from a plan B substitute if things aren't going well

Probably destined for the bench. Actually he'd be better at left wing back than any of our other options. He is very sound defensively and I recall quite a few goal-line clearances. Plus ,when Hull play wingbacks they score. Can you see ours getting goals? Noone will though.

He has played behind the front 2 before a few times...

Not sure I agree that he sound defensively but he could probably do a job in an emergency

Not with any great success though, destined to be a sub or possibly sold on??

Personally I see him as cover/ competition for Pilkington in the hole behind the big centre forward.
He likes to come inside and has the skills to make space in enclosed areas- could suit him

Possibly, but I would imagine that Immers and Pilks are miles ahead of him to play in that position at the moment...what do you think??

From what I've heard and seen the players seem to be relishing the challenge and why should Noone be any different.I wonder just how many of the Wales players found it easy to step into a different formation to that of the way their particular club plays.I would hope Nooney would give it a good crack just like the others. He is just the type of player to benefit from a counter attacking style.

Could he go a job at wingback probably but don't think we would be getting the best from him. If we are going with wingbacks time to move him on.

i dont think he will be moved on we cant go into the season with one gaame plan if we do then trollope would be just like slade, i think our wingers will come into play through the season as i think we will change from a 5-3-2 to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 which will give our wingers plenty of pitch time

I agree.
However, it's a squad game and he'll give us options off the bench and cover for injuries.
He's a bit of a wildcard and capable of changing a game- although inconsistent.
Wasted last 2 years being used solely on his weak side. I'd be more excited seeing him play in a position where he can go inside OR out

Still not sure where goals will come from with the wingback system. Hull have been the exception, where Elomandy, Brady and then Robertson all chipped in. Wigan used to play with wingbacks and get destroyed. It suits Wales cos of Bale and Ramsey on the break, but we haven't got that pace at all. Trollope may have to alter things, in which case wingers like Noone will be crucial.

There are massive flaws to that system. Primarily the fact it's a defensive formation, You need quality up top for this to work

No more so than the way we played under Malky-press all over an live off scraps of possession.Possession stats prove nothing these days and although we haven't got Bale and Ramsey in the side we are not facing remotely the same quality as the Welsh boys did.Anyway exactly what massive flaws are you on about?

He could do a job in a more narrow attacking position as he NEVER goes on the outside anyway. He needs the confidence/instruction to run at defenders though.

Are we really all too ready to be excited by a system predominantly only used in a tournament format for a 46 game season? Is it acceptable that we will not set-up to attack teams of similar standard?

maybe..have to agree he is a massive confidence player..hopefully he will be given more freedom to run at defenders under Trollope...We seriously lacked any sort of pace to hit teams on the break under Slade
