' What about Jazz Richards? '

What about Jazz?

After Saturday’s pre-season win over Shrewsbury, Bluebirds boss Paul Trollope said he was hoping to sign Jazz Richards ‘in the near future’.

So how would his arrival work?

It would create a very interesting competition for places in the wing-back roles with Declan John having a stormer at the weekend.

Fan favourite Fabio was on the other flank and somebody would have to miss out.

Then again, competition for places drives standards and if Richards does come in, it would be a cracking signing.

Not only that but the clubs with the most strength in depth tend to last the course best.Even if he comes in as No2 to someone else over the course of the season he should get plenty of chances.

Exactly... Lots of opertunity for game time. Problem with Slade he wouldn't even change things up for cup games and give people a run, and on top of that left our best players out of the team for far too long. It was painful at times.

Richards set for Cardiff with Malone joining Fulham

Fulham are set to complete the signing of left-back Scott Malone from Cardiff City, with Jazz Richards moving in the opposite direction.

Former Swansea defender Richards, 25, is set to return to Wales after agreeing personal terms with the Bluebirds.

He was part of Wales’ squad for the recent European Championship and has made 22 league appearances for Fulham since his move from Swansea a year ago.

Richards impressed during a spell on loan at Craven Cottage the season before last but struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular last term.

Malone, also 25, is returning to London, having had a two-and-a-half-year spell at Millwall before joining Cardiff in January last year.
