How much of an issue could this potentially be?

Double edged sword,if we don't get rid of the dead wood,they will sit in the stands.

We also need to ensure we have cover in depth.

Do we have enough fire power and strength at centre half? Could be a long season if we dont.

Have we actually used the emergency loan window much over the last few seasons?

As far as I recall, Immers, Zohore, Ameobi and other recent loanees were brought in during the normal summer and January transfer windows.
