Fulham have completed the signing of Belgian right back Denis Odoi on a three-year deal.
Football League
Thursday 14th July 2016
It’s the second defender signed in two days with Fulham signing Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas on loan.
28-year-old Odoi played for Belgian champions Anderlecht but in 2013 made the move to Lokeren and has made nearly 100 appearances for the club since.
He has played for Belgium at youth level and has one international cap. He is Slavisa Jokanovic’s fifth summer signing as the defensive strengthening continues which was their major fault last season.
They conceded 79 goals making their defence one of the worst defences in the Football League, undoing the good work of their strikers Dembele and McCormack, who scored 40 goals between them and kept them up.
Fulham fans will want big improvement from their defence with last summer’s signing Richard Stearman most in need of improvement – signing Tomas Kalas gives them options at right back and centre back.
With the arrival of Odoi, Kalas will most likely be played centrally to accommodate Odoi who is primarily a right back.
