LEX IMMERS- SONG THREAD

Im confident that he is going to a huge signing for us and could represent make or break for our season. We need to make sure we get behind him with some good songs to spur him on!

Anybody got any ideas? I think we need something upbeat that shows what an integral part of our season he is so I have used Proud Mary by Tina Turner which I think captures the mood we need. Its nice and easy to remember too.

"Proud Mary" attracted 35 covers in the year 1969 alone. Over 100 have been made since and you can see why.

Its an upbeat positive tune which would be great to help build atmosphere. Never been used as a football song before though as far as I can tell, incredibly!

Well the Proud Mary is supposed to represent a Paddle Steamer, so the big wheel is the wheel that pushes it along which is supposed to be the World turning, as in time moving along, which represents us marching to the Premier League, which fits nicely.

Proud Mary is replaced by the Bluebirds which I think is very fitting, and the burning is supposed to be us being on fire like Chopras boot used to do. (instead of a furnace on the ship) A bit like a Pheonix sort of rising from the ashes.

Thats the way I like to see it anyway. Although that was a concern of mine initialy.
