HULL SET FOR ROBSON-KANU TALKS

12/07/16

Hull manager Steve Bruce has revealed the club want to sign Hal Robson-Kanu and are "booked in for talks" with the Wales forward in the next few days.

Sky sources understand Leicester are among a number of other Premier League clubs interested in signing Robson-Kanu.

The 27-year-old is a free agent this summer after leaving Reading and he starred as Wales reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016, where they were beaten by eventual winners Portugal.

Bruce told the BBC: "We are booked in for talks with him and to see him in the next few days.

"Do we intend to offer him a deal? Yes. I think Hal is a good age, has had a sort of rebirth if you like, of playing through the middle, because before that he has played wide most of the time.

"He is big, strong, powerful, quick and somebody who runs the other way, in football terms. I know we have got competition, so let's see what we can do."

I think he's a decent player and deserves a shot at the Premier League. A club like Hull may be a good fit in terms of expectations and opportunities. At a bigger club he may not get so many games.

I still suspect, like many people do, that he is not quite consistent enough but I hope he proves us wrong for the sake of Wales. I suppose someone needs to help him tie down a position of his own rather than flipping between a winger and striker. I suspect he will be given the chance as a striker at Hull.

Good opportunity for him.

He's had one season in the premier league and scored 7 league goals in 25 games not prolific but a decent return. He also doubled his Wales goal tally at the euros.
I think he could be a player that performs better at the higher level. Provided he's played down the middle

If that's true he'd be nuts to turn it down.
