His Wiki page Fulham are closing in on Cardiff City left-back Scott Malone.

The 25-year-old defender is understood to be completing a medical prior to becoming the Whites third new signing in just over a week.

The former England U19 player is wanted to shore up a porous defence that conceded 79 goals last season - the third worst in the Championship, and an obvious replacement for a number of Whites who attempted to fill the spot.

Malone signed for Cardiff in January 2015 from Millwall and went on to make 56 appearances in all competitions for Bluebirds, scoring just once.

The 6ft 2ins player can also play left-midfield, and if the deal goes through will join Bastia forward Floyd Ayite, Hull striker Sone Aluko on the new boys roster at Fulham.

Ironically, that was the point saving equaliser in the 90th minute against QPR in August last season that salvaged a 2-2 draw for Cardiff - and here it is.

Perhaps Trollope intends to play Declan John.

Or perhaps he's been told to play Declan John.

Or perhaps he's been told to sell as many as he can to cut the wage bill.

Did somebody say Scott Malone being switched for Jazz Richards? Hahaha. That would be daylight robbery by us surely!

I don't claim to be in the know but I live in Swansea and I know some friends of Jazz Richards who tell me his agent and Cardiff have talked but at the moment that's as far as its gone. I wouldn't rule it out though

:ayatollah: Average player great goal at QPR but not much else it should give Declan John the chance he deserves. :thumbright:

Cardiff City left-back Scott Malone to join Fulham - report

Monday 11th July 2016

BY PHIL SMITH

Reports say he is having a medical ahead of the move

Fulham are understood to be on the brink of signing Cardiff City left-back Scott Malone.

The 25-year-old is having a medical with a view to making the switch to Craven Cottage.

His departure could mean a City revival for Declan John. The 21-year-old fell out favour last season and spent time on loan at Chesterfield, but Wales' success at the Euros means their is a real appetite among the Bluebirds' faithful for more young Welsh talent in the team.

He would become Fulham's third signing in just over a week, joining Floyd Ayite and Sone Aluko.

It's the same Declan John that did really well in the premiership at the age of around 18 I think.
He definitely deserves a chance at least.

It's a matter of opinion, I know, but I thought he was awful in the Premiership and has continued to be awful since. He can,t defend. If he wasn't Welsh nobody would be bothered about him.
