I can't think of a team that deserved to win a tournament less than Portugal who showed virtually no ambition to win any of their games and outside of Lisbon this victory won't be remembered for anything other than for one shot on target by the winners, albeit a great finish, and Ronaldo getting injured and crying.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here's a link from the fights under the Eiffel Tower during the game. Fans tried to break into a closed-off viewing zone, police have used tear gas and water guns.

Here's the link, enjoy and thanks for the support

Congratulations to everyone who supported Portugal in this tournament, unfortunately my favourite team couldn't make it after many errors in the defence line. Germany till the end!

I think the opposite, they knew their limitations and played to their strengths, just like ourselves. Tonight, Portugal had a game plan and executed it to perfection. France ran out of ideas and in extra time, Portugal took over, got the goal and deserved their win.

I still wonder if things could have turned out differently if Ramsey and Davies weren't banned. But tonight, Portugal showed they could get it done without Ronaldo, showing the rest of their team isn't too bad at all.

Portugal's only win over 90 minutes was against our weakened Wales team, but they were also unbeaten the whole tournament. Portugal displayed, belief, character, organisation and unity.

Like ourselves and Iceland, Portugal played as a team and that is the reason they managed to stay in the tournament, get to the final and become champions.

It's nice to see Portugal getting rewarded for their qualities and it shows a proper team will always get the better of a group of superior individuals.

Agree with what you say in many respects, but Portugal played like that in every game and only showed any ambition when they were on the verge of going out against Hungary. Call me old fashioned but I like to see a team try to win a game. They got a couple of breaks against us; dive for the free kick that led eventually to the first goal and I don't believe for one minute that second goal was intentionally diverted goal wards. Would we have beaten them with Ramsey? Yes, I think so as he is the link between attack and defence for us that was missing against them meaning we were never really able to put them under any sustained pressure and get the forwards in good positions.

Portugal ironically played like the Greece team back in 04 uninspiring dull but effective football.
