Newcastle United remain in talks with Blackburn Rovers over the signing of Grant Hanley, report the Newcastle Chronicle.
The Magpies are understood to have seen two bids for the Scotland international rejected so far, with the centre-back is still with Blackburn on their pre-season tour of Austria.
Rovers are renowned for being hard sellers under the Venky family having twice turned down offers from Burnley for Hanley last summer.
Hanley has 23 Scotland caps to his name and has made 183 league appearances for Blackburn Rovers, scoring eight goals.
