Yes mate, possible top 6 challenge but mid table realistically. I reckon that side would be hard to beat and have plenty of energy, but not a much pace or goals. Same as last season really. If we swapped Zohore for a proven striker and Harris for a quality winger I don't think we'd be far off players. Looking like this is the sort of side we'll be seeing at Birmingham though.

Gounongbe has been given the number nine shirt, so I take it he'll be first choice striker.
Marshall
Peltier Manga Connolly Fabio
Gunnars Ralls
New winger Immers Pilks
Gounongbe

Though we're supposed to be after Cotterill and another midfielder as well.

I'd say the new lad will be up top with Zahore on the bench, he may even play two big lumps up from and using Gunners long throw as a tactic, maybe going more direct? Hope not though.

Hopefully we'll see a new central midfielder and wide man soon.

gk - class for championship
peltier - okay in defense, mehh goin forward, dosent offer a lot
two cbs - strong, good defenders for championship, cant complain
Fabio - I love this guy, always wants the ball, loves getting forward too

j Williams - not sure
gunnerson - love him, but think he needs to do a little better than last season. keefe did well when he came in

harris - I duno, give him a chance I say
immers - was surprised he did a good job I thought last season.
cotterill - if we do sign him, please not for the reported 1.1 million. too much for him, hes alright at best for championship

zohore - I cant even remember if he even scored last season. would he really be the answer? I doubt it

Overall opinion

we wont get to the playoffs with this squad

Interesting to see that nobody has selected Whitts in their team.

I wonder if Trollope will follow Jones, Malky (mostly), Ole and Slade in having Whitts as one of the first players on the team sheet.

I would, he's the only one in our current set of midfielders that can see a pass and if we get the right front men making runs, he would slip them in more often than not.

Pilkington made lots of runs i didnt see whitts slip him in at all. People bang on about whitts passing ability like he is toni kroos lol. Whitts can pass the ball tidy backwards and sidewards but he cant get box to box and is like a slug in centre mid, id rather us sign a creative centre midfielder who can run with the ball get his head up and get us on the front foot and feed our attacking players something whitts isnt capable of doing.

So why did he have most assists (7) if as you say, passes it sideways and backwards? Plus was the second highest scorer? (6)

I'd replace Pilkington with John if we are going for wing backs. :ayatollah:

Because most of them assists were corners or free kicks not from open play lmao

I like the ideas of fullbacks with Fabio and malone.

Gunnar and pilks could fill in.

Again we will struggle. We need bigger changes.

Re: " How about this as a possible 11 this season? "

I think we would suit the Wales NT formation with our squad.

Marshall

Connolly
Manga
Morrison

Fabio and John wingbacks

Gunnar
Ralls

Immers

Fred

Still leaves Whitts, Zahore, Okeefe, Pilks, Noone on the bench f8r change of formation or impact

10 men won't help. Add Whitts into the Attacking midfield role behind Immers and Fred

Ill lol and lmao however much i like pal lol ppl are entitled to their opinion on whitts mine is we need a midfield creator who can go box to box and travel with the ball. Whitts is not that man imo.

Firstly I'm not your pal, secondly, you lol and lmao without reading the stats, they don't lie. He's not your cup of tea then fine, for me, there's nobody in the current squad that is better than Whitts in seeing a pass, his left foot is sublime. My opinion of course.

His left foot will be sublime and he will be able to see a pass when hes 50 years old but would you still put him in the side then? Fact is other parts of his game are lacking massively no engine no grit no pace no ability to run with the ball but atleast he can sit in midfield seeing a pass and pinging the odd ball with his left peg without doing anything else all game lmao

Re: " How about this as a possible 11 this season? "

Sun Jul 10, 2016 10:48 am

Look norms im not denying whitts qualities that hes a tidy passer keeps the ball good set pieces and had a good left foot can see a pass and play people in the odd occasion but his game lacks too much in other areas for me and id rather energy grit and someone who would put us on the front foot which whitts dosent. Just a difference of opinion really.
