Of course nothing is certain but Newcastle are certainly giving themselves an excellent chance of getting promoted straight back to the Premier League.
A Champions League winning manager signing experienced players and the financial backing of the chairman.
I often think that unless you bounce back immediately the season after relegation it becomes almost impossible to get back up once the inevitable cutbacks kick in.

Interesting how the headlines in these newspaper reports always describe the signing as a "star". In reality , although he may be a very good player , he was usually second choice at Athletico and only played 16 of their games last season and 8 the year before. Therefore more of a handy squad player than a "star".

Spending some serious cash!! When you consider the team they already have as well they will surely be favourites.

Second choice behind first choice Spanish right back Juan Fran. I would be surprised if he joined Newcastle to be a back up again, so I expect Janmaat will be sold.

He may turn out to be a "star" for Newcastle but it is a bit rich to describe him as a " star" for Athletico Madrid as he simply wasn't
