David Cotterill, and not for the first time, is being linked with a move to Cardiff with him someone new boss Paul Trollope is interested in as his predecessor Russell Slade was understood to be last season too.

The BBC has reported a £1.1m release clause in his contract with Birmingham City is something Cardiff, among others, are looking to bring in.

Cotterill was one of the Wales heroes (at least part of the squad) that made it to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and upon his return Cardiff will battle Sheffield Wednesday and Reading for the Birmingham winger?

Not worth that. Think it could be a waste of money really

Absolutely! We've just brought in two tall strikers, Cotteril has shown that he can provide quality ball from out wide (one of the best for that in this league).

There's always potential that the £1.1mil fee could be better spent on another player who could do a similar job but only with added risk. I don't think Cotteril is risky at all, he's proven.

Work with a Brummie, he's gutted bout losing him. Said he was one of their best players last season.

But particularly as part of his 'wanting' to come home is for personal (family) reasons and not a particular desire to play for Cardiff City FC; a club he once said he would "never" play for!

Having said all that, it appears that Paul Trollope 'wants' him and I'm sure the link via the Wales set-up will have a bearing on the outcome!

I think I'd rather have Cotterill at the club than Noone. At their best, Noone probably edges it but Cotterill is far more consistent.

Do you think players like Gary Medel came to the club because they wanted to play for Cardiff city?

Cotterills delivery is excellent, and he chips in with a few goals too. I would be happy with this.

Not a bad player can take players on and got a good shot on him. I'd much rather go for a winger with more pace mind that's what we're lacking

Let's be honest noone has been useless for two years now. Not sure if cotril is worth a mill but he'd be an improvement
