Tens of thousands more viewers tuned in on Wednesday night than had watched the quarter-final win over Belgium

lWales' Euro 2016 semi-final set a new record

The Euro 2016 semi-final defeat to Portugal set another record for most-watched live sporting event in Wales ever.

ITV says its television audience during the devastating 2-0 defeat peaked at 1.327m viewers – about 50,000 more than watched Wales crush Belgium in the quarter final.

A peak of 1.27m people watched Wales' sensational 3-1 victory over the Belgians, which held the record for a live sporting event for just five days.

The figures also represent ITV's biggest audience in Wales for any programme this century.

And the 1.327m peak is double the number who watched Gareth Bale et al open their tournament against Slovakia on June 11 and who tuned in for the "Battle of Britain" against England on June 16 – although the latter game kicked off on a weekday afternoon.

There will be no tears for Wales, this Euro 2016 adventure will live in our hearts and minds :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

But you won't get the media in Wales admitting it - they are so biased towards rugby

That ain't bad seeing as how many went to the game. 27.500 at the mill Stad. Fan zones in Swansea Newport Pontypridd and many more up and down the country, not to mention the pubs packed to the rafters.
