GILLS SWOOP ON DUO

Gillingham have announced the double signing of Lee Martin on a permanent deal and Deji Oshilaja on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.

Winger Martin was released by Millwall at the end of the 2015/16 season after spending time on loan at Northampton Town last season, while centre-back Oshilaja made 25 appearances during two loan spells at the club.

Oshilaja is 23 now. He can no longer really be considered a "prospect" can he?

He should really be pushing for a starting place with us by now if he's going to make it at Championship level and he's constantly being sent out on loan.

If he's not up to the job then surely it would be better to sell him and let him carry on his career at a lower level.

I just wonder why they keep loaning him out? The club must think he still has a future or they're just running down his contract until it ends.
