CARDIFF CITY ARE LOOKING AT DAVID COTTERILL

Cardiff City are among the clubs interested in signing Wales winger David Cotterill from Birmingham.

(BBC Monday 4th July 2016)

Cardiff-born Cotterill, 28, has a £1.1m release clause in his current contract.

Fellow Championship sides Sheffield Wednesday and Reading are also understood to be keen on the former Swansea and Wigan player.

Cotterill is currently with the Wales squad as they prepare for their Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal on Wednesday.

He has yet to feature for Chris Coleman's side in France, with the most recent of his 23 caps coming in the friendly draw against Northern Ireland in March.

Cotterill, he looks like Phil Collins in that pic... suppose you can't hurry a City signing.
I suppose it's against all odds that we get Jonny Williams

At his age the £1.1m could be spent better elsewhere although the Trollope connection could be playing a part.

My mate knows his Father, David is desperate for this move for personal reasons as well as footballing reasons, his 2 children live down here so that would be the main reason, and if you look at his Instagram account, his children are his world.

Would be happy to see Williams in a City shirt.

For me, whatever money we have available this summer MUST be spent on players who are going to improve our squad.

In my opinion Cotterill is no improvement on what we have already.

Agree!

He once said he'd "NEVER" play for Cardiff City FC and I hope he keeps to his word! ;)

very uninspired by cotterell but the word is boys we will never sign Johnny Williams he has an ongoing problem with his knee that stops him completing 90 mins and we wont touch him sadly. would love him here he was amazing against us for Ipswich :ayatollah:

Looking at his record and the plaudits he's received in the last 2 seasons, I think he'd be a good signing.

He has a good delivery and is a natural winger. I don't think he'd be a bad signing.

Take a look at his goal-scoring and assists record and compare them to Jonny Williams. I think Trollope will go for Cotterill every time. Having said that, can't see Vinnie coughing up the dough.
