Vueling - anyone had any experience with them?

Mon Jul 04, 2016 7:15 pm

Has anyone had any experience with Vueling airlines? Meant to have flown with them from Cardiff, leaving at 1510hrs in afternoon. Delay after delay, the flight finally left the next morning at 0500hrs in the morning. Needless to say we had had enough after 5 hours waiting, gave up and went home. For a short 2 night break it seemed pointless.
Tried complaining to Vueling, no answer on their phone, no response to emails. Digging deeper they have got terrible reviews and advised to steer clear at all costs.
Anyone know how to get a response from them, anything over 3 hour delay is entitled to compensation up about £310.
Cheers

Flew with them from Cardiff in April and they were absolutely fine.
Can't help with contacting them as we had no need to but it sounds well out of order.
I hear the frogs are striking again with regards to their air traffic control causing mayhem as usual which may have been a reason I guess.

Flew to Malaga with them at half term. Flight left Cardiff a couple of hours late. The plane didn't even have tea or coffee available. Staff were surly and unfriendly. Not impressed at all

Thanks for responses. Sounds like they started off ok but have grown too big too quickly. Advice to anyone thinking of booking with them is be very wary, expect a delay and zero customer service.

I remember taking my parents down to Cardiff 3 years back for them to fly to Alicante. They were delayed 4 hours there and were later made to travel on a coach put on by them to go to Birmingham to get another fight, they missed a day off their holiday.

I think they're still fighting them about it to this day. They'll never fly again with them and tell anyone they can how bad they' are. They were given a number at the time and like you couldn't get an answer for love nor money. They've gone down the ombudsman route now.

Whenever I need to complain to a company I always go straight to the top and get excellent responses.

Here is the email address of the Vueling Chief Exec - Javier.Sanchez@vueling.com

Write an email to him and i'm sure you'll get a good response.

Good luck.

The EU has rules on delayed flights. My sister's was delayed a few years back and the airline automatically compensated even thougt it wasn't their fault.

Funny you should say about writing to CEO. I got Javiers email address (the Vueling CEO) off a dedicated Facebook page for people complaining about Vueling. Sent him two emails, no response so far. Looks like they are going to be dealing with a whole load of complaints:

I like the way their statement says they have offered refunds and compensation, I haven't heard a dickie bird from them.

Finally got a response from Vueling, and in their defence they have agreed to pay compensation and refund the price of the tickets.
So if your flight is delayed more than 3 hours and the distance between the airport you are leaving and travelling to is less than 1,500 km you are entitled to 210€ per person. If you decide to cancel your flight because of the delay then you are also entitled to a full refund of the price paid for the tickets.
