he hasnt even been mentioned in the same sentence as us.. nextr you will tell me you have inside info that we was in for him. as I said at the start of the euros players will move and we will be left behind with our late activity. everyone around us including the likes of Blackburn are improving their squads every day whilst we get some unkown again from our Belgian feeder club lol

No inside info just curious how you knew that we hadn't attempted to sign him, assumed you had the inside info.

As far as I can see only about 5 clubs have bought players so far, and there's 100 players available! guess we should try sign them all? :laughing6:

Great idea, we are drastically cutting costs so let's try and sign an injury prone striker on 40k a week!

The thing is I've got no problem with trying low cost players. But look at our track record... And for that matter look at our transfer committee :|

Happy to give the new guy a chance but recently history tells me not to get my hopes up.

Are you sure just 100. I thought this forum had already linked us to more than that figure. There's usually a couple of hundred coming here most Summers if all the rumours on here are correct.

spot on nubbsy.. how can the board expect us to get excited by this when players with proven quality move all around us.. I would love this new guy to be the answer up front but does anyone have any faith given our recent recruitment of strikers? we just dont seem to be able to make our minds up whether we are going to have a crack at it or not.. lex immers cant have signed here for peanuts I bet he is on good money so please stop telling me we are cost cutting. surely better to spend more on proven quality rather than unknown quantity and have to replace it every season. if we would have just signed steven fletcher this forum would be exploding in what a fantastic exciting signing it is so please don't tell me differently

For cost of revell, Saadi and Doyle I'm sure Fletcher on a free would have been fairly cheap. Buy cheap buy twice! Especially when you've got a group of businessman trying to pick footballers.

im sure doyle cost in the region of 850k to a million.. but fletcher would eba terrible waste of money and I donbt believe sheff wed would be paying him anywhere near 40k a week
