Love the way people who voted leave are a mob and various other things. Anyone would think it was a handful of unruly thugs who voted to leave, and not the people who actually won the referendum by over one and a quarter million votes. Some people still struggling to understand what a democracy is.

No one has run away from standing shoulder to shoulder with our neighbours. In fact, that statement couldn't be further from the truth!

The UK has a proud record of standing shoulder to shoulder with its neighbours in modern times and has often led the way rather than sat back when the time for people to get their hands dirty was required!

Now you've taken this thread into negativity mode, he're's another way to think about how Brexit could be a positive for the UK:

For over 40 years the UK has seen its contributions increase astronomically whilst getting less and less back as more and more countries join the 'club' and more and more self-determination is eroded

The EU has gone way beyond its original remit and we know where it would like to go next. If you did even an ounce of proper research, you will see that the UK is one of the more likely of the EU members to do what they have now done and make a success of it in partnership but on its own terms!

Who's running away? This country stood shoulder to shoulder with France in the 1940's. We were'nt in the EU then.

Watch this space, I guess but I think the people of the UK have a bit more about them than that and will come through this situation as they have many more serious ones historically!

I think the Common Market and the EEC were a good idea, and could still be good. I was old enough to be able to vote at the last referendum, and from what I remember the primary aim had always been to remove barriers to trade between the member countries. I don't recall us voting to hand more and more of our law making powers over to the EEC, nor being told that we would no longer be able to deport terrorists, but instead would have to pay to keep them in luxury houses while many of us struggled to earn a living. I still think the EU could be good, but it needs a major overhaul, and it is not only the people of the UK who are getting disillusioned with it.
