McFadzean reportedly handed in a transfer request to MK Dons last week

Cardiff City are reportedly amongst a host of Championship clubs chasing MK Dons’ defender Kyle McFadzean.

It is suggested Wolves, Birmingham, Blackburn along with the Bluebirds have all shown an interest in the centre-half who handed in a transfer request this week.

McFadzean was a regular in a Dons side which suffered relegation from the Championship last season, in the club’s first ever season at that level. But the 29-year-old could be set for an immediate return to the second-flight, despite interest from his boyhood club, League One, Sheffield United apparently.

Sheffield-born McFadzean began his career at Bramall Lane, where his younger brother Callum also played, but never made a first-team appearance before signing for Alfreton Town.

Lennie Lawrence poised to come on board with Cardiff City in next few days, although his title is unknown

The former England C international first appeared in the Football League with Crawley Town five years ago and moved to Stadium:MK in 2014. McFadzean, who made 39 second tier appearances last season, has two years left on his contract in Berkshire.

Cardiff released centre-half Ben Turner, who has now signed for new Championship outfit Burton, at the end of last season.

There are also doubts over the future in the Welsh capital of fellow centre-back Bruno Manga with the Gabon international already linked with a move to the Premier League or back to France this summer.

Don't know much about him but do we really need players from teams that have been relegated form the Championship?

Should we not be aiming a little higher?

I'd rather we kept Big Ben.

Wasn't David marshal bought from a relegated team? And I could be wrong but I think Hudson may have been?

both had shaky starts, but yes, both have proven to be fantastic players for us.

every player should be judged on his own merits. there shouldn't be any arbitrary rule about for instance, not buying from relegated clubs. i know nothing of this player so cannot comment on his ability.
