Joe ledley- Our compensation hopes look slim to me

Fri Jul 09, 2010 7:51 pm

The FIFA regulations state that training compensation is payable until the end of the season in which the player reaches his 23rd birhtday

As Joe was 23 in January this year that would have been last season.

Unless for some obscure reason (and I think it is really clutching at straws) FIFA includes the summer break as part of last season (i.e they regard next season as starting with the first matches on August 7th}, I don't think we stand a cat in hell's chance of getting anything

See page 22 and Annexe 4 of the folowing document.

You'll need adobe installed for this.

If someone else has already posted this I apologise, just didn't have time to search all The Joe ledley threads and didn't see any obvious title threads on the matter

These regulartions are dated October 2009.

Yeah, but it depends when the season is deemed to have ended.

No idea what the FIFA date is.

He could create a new ruling like Johny Bosman.

Yes it struck me after I posted that there may be some official FIFA season dates.

Wouldn't surprise me knowing FIFA.

But if there is one we've probably missed it anyway!!!

The transfer window opened on 1 July and Ledley's contract ran out on 30 June.

At a guess I would say the new season begins with the openning of the transfer window.
