EU REFERENDUM

Wed Jun 22, 2016 6:59 am

I have to say that I've hardly met or spoken to anyone who wants to remain. The only people who I've seen campaigning for remain are politicians and a few (and far between) members of the public interviewed on to. I would say approx 95% of people I've met/seen are voting out. It will be interesting if we still end up in the eu after all this.

Same here, I've asked half the village I live in and have so far only found 1 person saying remain... about 98% leave. Not sure where all these 50/50 polls are coming from, something fishy is going on if you ask me.

I thought you were on about referees at the European Championships. :)

It's interesting cause im getting the complete opposite of you. Everyone i know is voting remain apart from 1 person who still isn't sure

That's the thing, you won't know because of the people who you talk to likely hold the same opinions etc.
Also I find Brexitters are more vocal for the most part

OUT.. that's what most say to me, and I agree!

It's guna depend on where you work/live/socialise. The remain campaign is still quite strong

I tend to mix with a variety of people from all over and my family live the other side of the U.K. yet most people are saying leave to me. I don't dispute that the remain camp is also very strong and could win with more votes but it's just they seem to be Few and far between (perhaps they are dodging me) in terms of who I've personally met. That includes work/social/family/clubs etc etc. I do wonder whether there are lots sitting on the fence which is also understandable as the information can be abit confusing and I feels that we are having to go a lot on trust -either way (Just my opinion though).

95% 0f my family and friends and the people I peak with every day will be voting remain. I guess its the circles you move in.

You will probably find that you all live in different areas. The map below shows how polls are in different regions.

Towards red is leave, towards green is stay.

I understand your point but, as said above, it goes both ways.

I'm voting to remain, and have intended to since the referendum was announced. Most people I talk to are doing the same. But then others tell me that they're voting leave, and that most of the people they speak to are.

Too tight to call, and we won't know until Thursday night going into Friday morning.

Agree on all counts there, Remain for me too.

I find the more confident people will vote to leave, whilst the more conservative or unsure of themselves will want the status quo. On paper that should mean the remain campaign will win. Just hope my theory is a complete load of bollox. :D

Yes, I just hope that everyone uses their vote responsibly. I had an opinion of what I wanted to vote when the referendum was announced but wanted to make sure I was making the right decision so I've researched it... perhaps more than is healthy! Haha.

For example, I've heard individuals wanting to vote Leave saying the EU doesn't give anything back when they live in an EU regeneration project area. On the flip side, I've heard people say Remain when doing so would not benefit them in any way.

It would be a disgrace if people vote for something they know nothing about when it holds such an importance over not only our futures but the futures of our kids and grand kids.

Spot on Tony Blue but a large majority of the REMAIN voters listen to the establishment bullshit and they won't get the status quo, they will get European federalisation and all that comes with that a few years down the line but most can't or won't see further than their nose - for me British sovereignty is the main debating point - the rest is just soundbite after soundbite.

Everyone entitled to a vote and I hope they use it. I won't judge others if they vote differently to me. After all come Friday we all have to carry on living together. I hope there's respect and acceptance shown from both sides what ever the result is. Democracy will win :-)

I would suggest that this sort of statement is what enrages the leave side.

If you are saying that the remain side are more educated how can they not put that education into practice and convince the poor unwashed idiots as to what is better for them?

However there will be enough remain voters to see us stay within the EU.

It will be the "Don't Know's" that decide this. If you are unable to decide at this point then you will most likely vote to stay when in the booth. People who are that uncertain will usually come down on the side of no change.

there are alot of people that do not see the most visual effect of EU membership which is mass migration. others profit greatly from the EU. others are happy to be in political union with europe, and are blind to the drawbacks.

i will be voting leave and though it will be a step into the unknown, and may lead to slightly less money in my pocket, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.
