BIG games for Wales tonight!

Looking at the odds for Wales v Russia, we have been instilled as underdogs. So lets say the bookies are correct and we end up finishing our group with 3 or 4 points, qualification in 3rd spot will be reliant on other groups 3rd place teams. Only the best 4 of the 6 will qualify. Goal difference becomes massive here too.

Tonight, Group A's finals matches will be played and that is one group that we are looking good so far to beat their 3rd place teams, but it can all change tonight.

It currently stands as this:-

France ...........6 pts + 3 GD
Switzerland .....4 pts + 1 GD
Romania .........1 pts -1 GD
Albania .......... 0 pts -3 GD

Tonight France play Switzerland to sort out top spot, while Romania face Albania to sort out 3rd spot.

In the France game we want France to win by at least 2 goals. That puts Switzerland on 4 pts with a negative GD. We are currently on 3 points with a 0 GD, meaning if we get a draw tomorrow night we will nip ahread of Switzerland on GD if they manage to finish 3rd.

In the Romania game, A draw would be perfect for Wales meaning that they would probably be out of contention for a qualification spot on 2pts and the above France game then becomes irrelevant in this equation.

The worst possible result is a Romania win, taking them to 4pts and potentially better GD if they win by 2 or more. Meaning a draw against Russia will put them ahead of us on GD.

So root for France and a draw or Albania tonight for those who were not 100% sure before

Im sure they are, but they are also aware that there is a decent chance they wont, they have been in football long enough to know that. They are professionals and hopefully will know exactly the permutations regarding qualifying and are, i assume, currently delighted that Albania are beating Romania.

Group A is the first group to be completed and we will have more than their 3rd place team if we lose tomorrow night by a single goal (assuming England beat Solvakia)
