Six Russians arrested in connection with previous violence
French police have arrested six Russians in connection with the violence in southern France at the weekend while another three Russians and one Ukrainian will be expelled from the country after clashes in northern France.

This means that a total of 16 arrests have been made today including those arrested above.

And in relation to the train violence, another five people were arrested for public drunkenness after the train had to be stopped before it got to Lille and then allowed to continue.

One group of English and Welsh fans claimed violence flared as they responded to a Russian supporter let off a "banger" flare near Lille's city centre. Three or four men in their early 20s emerged from a side street off Rue Faid Herbe with cuts and grazes to their heads and shoulders.

One said: "We are not going to stand here and watch. This will get worse later."

Around 40,000 English and Welsh supporters are estimated to be in Lille tonight ahead of tomorrow's match in Lens.

Russian supporters are outnumbered after their match against Slovakia in Lille failed to sell out.

Earlier, five suspected Moscow ultras were seen being detained.

Euro 2016 crowd violence: More arrests with England, Russia and Wales fans in fresh Lille clashes today.
As Russia lost their match to Slovakia 2-1 their fans went once again on the hunt for English and Welsh fans.
Early reports are that just like the night before the Welsh and the English United together

These are the scenes as hundreds of English and Welsh thugs roam around Lille screaming "F*** off Russia, we're England and Wales." Just seconds later The Telegraph was caught up in a police kettle as armed officers swarmed and set off tear gas. Bottles were thrown at police before supporters eventually escaped up side streets. The scenes are set to worsen as more Russian fans return to the town centre and darkness falls.

One injured fan in central Lille
One fan has been injured during the trouble while a car was left seriously damaged, AFP reported.

A separate brawl broke out between England and Wales fans on a train travelling from Calais to Lille. About 15 men were involved, a French security official told AFP.

"There was a fight between England and Wales fans. It was quite violent," the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the news agency.

Several arrests were made when the train arrived in Lille on Wednesday evening with a British undercover police officer who was onboard helping French authorities to identify the aggressors, the official said.
