From an England fan out in Marseille

Been speaking to an England fan whose out there and not an hooligan but been everywhere watching England. He reckons the russians hadnt been near the main lot of England fans. The Russians along with french locals choose to pick easy targets of 10s and 20s just having a beer and outnumbering them 5 to 1 in some circumstances even lone fans going to the shops were attacked.

He seems to think the english media are trying to cover their arses out there by only showing scuffles which only showed the russians attacking low numbers of english because England havent been innocent...
Russians and locals being allowed to do what they want whilst lots of England are not allowed to leave areas near their hotel or risk getting nicked and hes heard of England fans getting thrown into police vans and taking a bad beating before being chucked out although he hadnt seen it himself.

He did admit being shocked by the way the russians didnt give a f**k who they attacked and suprised the old bill just left them walk off to regroup and pass weapons to each other then go looking for other targets.
Reckons the Russian fans were all well behaved except an organised group of around 300 which splintered into smaller numbers to attack different bars where their numbers were superior most had bum.
Russians only been attacking fans if they had bigger numbers and most had bum bags with dusters and cs gas in.
After the game there werre no signs of any Russian mobs wanting to confront England they had left the area to lay in wait for stragglers going back to hotels..
Thought i'd post this so fans going to Lille will hopefully keep their wits about them.

No problem at all with local people in Bordeaux. Russians , English, Ukrainians all have hardline neo-fascist supporters. We danced and chanted with French and Slovakian supporters dim probs.

It is the idiotic right/ left who spoil it for real fans and in all walks of life .
