' Hal Robson-Kanu '

Next to superstars like Bale and Aaron Ramsey, he goes right under the radar with Wales after a career spent with lesser lights Reading, Southend and Swindon.

But Hal R-K never gives anything less than 100 per cent in a Wales shirt and is instructed to do the running that creates the gaps for Bale and Ramsey to rampage into.

Robson-Kanu even lost his place in the team for this game, Chris Coleman opting instead for Jonny Williams' creativity as Gareth Bale's partner up top.

But when his opportunity came, Robson-Kanu grabbed it with two hands. His winning goal may have been a mis-hit, but he was in the right position at the right time to latch onto Ramsey's pass and set up the moment of fortune.

It was Robson-Kanu's third goal for Wales. Unless he smacks the winner against England, or even in the Euro final in Paris next month, it's hard to imagine he will get a more important one.

Jonny Williams had a great game and ran himself into the ground. He won the free-kick from which Bale scored and should have had a penalty and seen Martin Škrtel sent off for that outrageous elbow in the face (just how did that 4th official miss that?)

However, HRK came on and made a difference straight away. Ramsey should have scored from his inch perfect cross prior to his goal. Ramsey seemed to some what accidently return the favour (after an excellent pass from Ledley) and HRK scored all be it from a scuffed shot.

Yes you make your own luck but after years of downright shabby luck (Joe Jordon, Swansea floodlights to mention two) isn't it about time we enjoyed some fortune?
