BARTON TAKES SWIPE AT BROWN
New Rangers signing Joey Barton has wasted no time in taking a swipe at Old Firm rivals Celtic and aimed his comments at skipper. Scott Brown.
"People keep talking about Joey Barton and Scott Brown. He ain't in my league. He is nowhere the level I am as a player. He can't get to me," the former Burnley, QPR and Marseille midfielder told talkSPORT.
"If I play well, Scott Brown doesn't stand a chance. That is not me being blasé. That is me just stating what I believe."

QPR TARGET FOFANA
Championship side Queens Park Rangers are targeting a move for Manchester City youngster Seko Fofana, French publication L'Equipe reports.
He signed for the Premier League club in 2013 after moving from Lorient, but has been out on loan at Fulham and Bastia where he had a successful spell this season.
QPR are now said to want him on a permanent basis, with Bordeaux, Torino and Hamburg also interested in his services.

BURNLEY EYE BOAZ
Sean Dyche is back in the Premier League with Burnley and wants to recruit back up for Tom Heaton. The Clarets were promoted as champions and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Bournemouth and Watford last season who remained in the top division after going up.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Dyche wants West Brom 'keeper Boaz Myhill to challenge England international Heaton for the number 1 jersey at Turf Moor.

Arsenal will move their attention to Edinson Cavani if Jamie Vardy decides to stay at Leicester, according to the Sunday Express.
The PSG striker is keen to move away from the French champions in order to play regularly through the middle as a central striker.

KANTE £100K-A-WEEK?
N’Golo Kante has been offered a £100,000-a-week contract to stay at Premier League champions Leicester City, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Kante has been linked with a whole host of European giants in recent weeks, including PSG and Manchester United.
It is understood the Leicester man will wait until after the European Championships to make his decision on his future.

SAINTS SHOULD APPOINT BRITISH
Former Southampton manager Lawrie McMenemy believes the club should appoint a British manager once Ronald Koeman completes his move to Everton.
The Dutchman has been at St Mary's for two season since replacing Mauricio Pochettino but is odds-on favourite to succeed Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.
McMenemy, who guided the Saints to the 1976 FA Cup and a second place berth in the old First Division, suggested the club should look toward Eddie Howe, Mark Hughes, Alan Pardew or Steve Bruce.
Writing for the Southampton Echo, McMenemy said: “Hand on heart, certainly with the experience we have had with our last two managers and what is happening elsewhere, I would like to see a British manager."

BROWN CONSIDERS MOVE ABROAD
Three former Sunderland players are on the lookout for new clubs after being released by the Black Cats on Friday. Wes Brown, Danny Graham and Steve Harper were shown the exit door at the Stadium of Light as Sam Allardyce looks to re-build a side that only just staved off relegation last season.
Despite the setback, former Manchester United defender Brown, 36, still wants to extent his playing career and is willing to move abroad to secure a new contract.

The Premier League has announced which players have been released from their clubs and which ones remain for the 2016/17 season.
Released players include Manchester United pair Nick Powell and Victor Valdes, Arsenal duo Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini, Manchester City's Martin Demichelis and Liverpool's Kolo Toure.
The list includes players from Newcastle, Norwich and Aston Villa, despite their relegation to the Championship.

Joe Allen will cost Swansea £10million to sign him from Liverpool, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Welsh midfield maestro’s future at Liverpool is uncertain with his contract set to expire in 12 months’ time and Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has openly said he wants the midfielder to return to south Wales.
Allen played 127 games for Swansea before leaving for Liverpool in a £15m deal.

CHALOBAH WANTS ITALIAN JOB
Torino have opened talks with Chelsea over taking youngster Nathaniel Chalobah on loan for the season, according to reports.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at Napoli but failed to make an impression, playing just 12 games.
However that experience hasn’t put the England Under-21 international off playing in Italy and is reportedly looking for a loan move.

KOEMAN WANTS SCHMEICHEL
Ronald Koeman will bid £20million for Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel if he takes over at Everton, according to The Sun.
Koeman has yet to finalise his move from Southampton yet but has already put plans in place to strengthen his squad, with a goalkeeper top of his shopping list.

REDS BID FOR ZIELINSKI
Liverpool have made a £9.5million bid for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, report the Guardian.
The Reds are reportedly hopeful the lure of working with manager Jurgen Klopp could persuade the Poland international to make the switch to Anfield.
Klopp is believed to have spoken to the 22-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli, personally in attempt to push through a move.
Napoli are also interested in Zielinski, with their president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, confirming they are trying to convince him to opt for a move to Naples over Merseyside.
“Liverpool have made a bid for him and Zielinski wants to join them but we are trying to convince the player to join us, because we have an agreement with Udinese,” he said.

WOLVES MAKE SMITH BID
Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a £750k bid for Fulham striker Matt Smith, the Express and Star reports.
The former Leeds man had to settle for a place behind Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack at Craven Cottage last season, while Wolves lost two frontmen in Benik Afobe to Bournemouth and Nouha Dicko to injury and will be looking to replenish the ranks this summer.
