Sunderland have confirmed the departure of striker Steven Fletcher after leaving him off their official retained list for next season's Premier League campaign.

The 29-year-old will exit alongside Wes Brown, Danny Graham and Steve Harper, none of whom will be offered extensions to their contracts which expire this summer.

Fletcher would be a decent signing at This level. Wes Brown good experience but struggle with injuries

Im happy with cost cutting or atleast the club being sensible. Id rather see us signing younger promising players and bringing through a few from the academy that want to prove themselves rather than spend on high wages on old players
