Atmosphere

This is probably the best place to put my idea, because someone will have access to the club in some capacity or maybe have an in-road.

Being quite an avid follower of european football, I'm amazed with all the TV rights and the money in English football that more of an effort isn't made into creating better atmospheres at stadiums. Whenever I've been, people sit in silence with their arms crossed, or start booing instead.

If you watch German football, i.e. Dortmund or FC Koln, they have huge tifo's displayed before big matches or cup games. All it takes it a huge banner for the fans to hold up, or on certain seats you have coloured card so that the other stands see the message.

With Cardiff's new approach to trying to make the atmosphere better, introducing flags etc, I think they'd be game for introducing things like that. Tifos, in addition to getting the whole stadium singing and waving scarves/ flags, I think Cardiff could really be onto something. With an intimidating atmosphere and the players/ resources we have, there's absolutely no reason as to why we couldn't inspire the team into fighting for the shirt and making the play-offs.

There is absolutely zero need to contribute to the poor atmosphere and booing the team is unacceptable as our duty as fans. I understand that Tan has done the club wrong in the past, but he has gone back. He turned the club back blue and is really trying to be more careful, i.e. not giving unproven managers millions upon millions to spend on poor quality players. Tan loves the club and so do we.

If you want an example, look at Rayo Vallecano: a Spanish team with the budget of David Marshall's salary were relegated this year after 5 years in the division. Their fans stayed for over an hour after the final match cheering and singing to the players. If a team like that can have such loyal fans, why can't Cardiff? We were the best fans in the Premier League a few years back and we can do that again.

Time to make Cardiff great.

I'm surprise no-one has jumped at making the atmosphere better. Are people happy as it is?

f*ck banners and the like, the reason the atmosphere is getting worse around the country is the insistence on pricing out low income fans and all-seater stadiums.Your examples Bundesliga/La Liga are cheap tickets!

I get that tickets are expensive, but if you've paid all that money to be there, why aren't you making the most of it? The Stadium doesn't need to sell-out to create a good atmosphere. Sure, it helps, but it isn't required.

If you've paid £60 for a ticket, make the most of it. Sing, wave scarves, hold banners. Don't add to the miserable atmosphere.

I admire and understand your post as I watch foreign football too. Their fans are top notch. :thumbright:

I've posted a couple of times on here on how I miss the atmosphere at the CCS. Unfortunately, many fans are fed up, including all my friends and family.

Until the club shows more ambition and begins to win games frequently and seriously challenges for promotion then the atmosphere will continue to be as it is. That's modern football.

I do appreciate that, its not nice watching such an inconsistent team. Having said that, some really poor teams have brilliant fans who never stop cheering the team on. Players like Gunnarsson, who has been cheered right through the Euro qualifiers, really step up their game when the crowd is behind them. If you've ever watched Diego Simeone, he's constantly pumping up the crowd. I really hope Cardiff can turn it around.

Yeah but unfortunately our fans now expect the world after a few trips to Wembley and a rebrand funded joke of a season in the premier league. We've got years of recovering to do before our fan base starts to shape up. The only major things that will make a difference imo is changing the canton and family stand and introducing safe standing in certain areas of the ground.

Good post, hopefully safe standing will also drive down prices in those sections
