Atmosphere at Wembley tonight

Thu Jun 02, 2016 8:41 pm

:laughing6: Mexican wave :laughing6: players clearly heard calling each other :laughing6: oh to be a posh England footy fan :laughing6:

Mind you they did win the World Cup in 66 and have been the best team in the world since according to their very very biased media and commentators. :laughing6: They do give us a laugh mind you :laughing6:

Their team were awful as well, not worried at all for when we play them in a couple of weeks. Not saying we're definitely going to win, but they are nowhere near the level that their fans and media say they are.

You wouldn't have thought Portugal were playing with a man less for over half the game.

Well firstly, let's be fair, the media have been a lot more realistic about the England squads quality the past 3-4 years. All you see nowadays is the standard enthusiasm and positive belief in the lead up to a tournament - absolutely no different to what we are doing ourselves.

As for playing against ten men, you mock their performance but it's well proven that sometimes it's harder to play against 10 men for a long period than it is against 11. Hell, our beloved club struggled to see off Bolton just over a month ago, who had 10 men for an extended period.

Let's not bullshit, and let's me more realistic!

What rubbish !! Are you seriously saying that teams would rather play against 11 men than 10 !!??

Give Chris Coleman the choice whether to play against a 10 or 11 man England team and I think I can guess what he'd choose !! (just watch Wales try to wind up Ali in the 1st half in two weeks time for proof  ).

However, playing against 10 men does require changes. Move the ball quickly, stretch the 10 men and change the formation to create overloads out wide; none of which did England do until the last 10 mins yesterday (nor, by the way, did City do it against Bolton).

The initial team selection was questionable, the lack of flexibility after the sending off would be worrying for an England fan. I did tip England to get to the final but I'm glad I didn't place that bet now because I still don't think that, a week away from his first game, Hodgson knows his best team/formation.
