Police called after fight between Crystal Palace and Millwall fans in Croydon High Street
By PollyAW | May 30, 2016

Croydon Advertiser

Police were called to a fight between Crystal Palace and Millwall fans in Croydon High Street this evening (Sunday).

Officers were called to reports of someone being punched in the face in the street at about 8pm.

A police spokesman said a man was making threats and shoving people in High Street.

Advertiser reporter Polly Albany-Ward, who was at the scene, saw a man wearing a Crystal Palace shirt shouting at people eating in the bars and restaurants in the street.

A man who was in High Street when the incident happened said Millwall fans were chanting "Millwall, Millwall, Millwall" at the Palace fan.

"There was a group of guys and one of them was trying to fight the man and chanting at him," the man, who did not want to be named, said.

"His mates were trying to hold him back, and then some bouncers were trying to restrain the other guy and the Millwall fan ran off."

Another witness said the Palace fan was running up and down the street shouting "you ****ing idiots" while bouncers attempted to hold him back.

"He was roaming the street like a wild animal," he said.

Officers restrained the Palace fan, pinning him to the ground before eventually taking him away in the police van.

The spokesman said the man was detained to prevent a breach of the peace and was later released. No further action is being taken at the moment, he added.

Never realised that Buster Bloodvessel was a Palace fan. He has since apologised to the Police for his Bad Manners.
