MICHAEL CARRICK SIGNS NEW DEAL
Michael Carrick has signed a new one-year deal with Manchester United, with the veteran midfielder considering whether to extend his stay at Old Trafford into a second decade.
Carrick is out of contract at Old Trafford and was believed to be waiting to find out if he would be offered a new deal.
However Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford has seen the 34-year-old given assurances that he does figure in the Portuguese’s plans for next season.
JOSE MOURINHO AFTER GOMES
New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is willing to meet the £30m valuation Valencia impose on midfielder Andre Gomes, as he prepares his overhaul at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, Italian giants Juventus are also believed to be interested in the 22-year-old midfielder, who has established himself as an all-round midfielder during his time in La Liga, impressing with his passing range, ability on the ball and his athleticism.

Sunderland are stepping up bids for West Ham striker Diafra Sakho as a £10m move edges closer, according to the Daily Mail.
Manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly ready to speak to the Senegal international as West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan prepares to give the go-ahead.
The 26-year-old, who was signed for £3.5million from Metz, scored 12 goals in 26 games in his first season.

WEST HAM TO REJECT OXFORD BIDS
West Ham will reject any offer received for teenage midfielder Reece Oxford, according to The Sun.
Manchester United are reportedly set to make a £10m bid for the 17-year-old, with Jose Mourinho eager to make Oxford his first purchase at Old Trafford.
But the teenager, who starred against Arsenal in West Ham's 2-0 victory at the Emirates last season, remains highly rated by the east London club, who insist he is a key part of their plans for next season.

PORTO FIRE COACH
FC Porto have fired head coach Jose Peseiro after less than five months, the club confirmed in a statement.
Porto won the Portuguese league nine times out of eleven between 2002 and 2013 but have seen Benfica walk off with the title in each of the last three seasons.
Peseiro was the ninth man to coach the 27-times Portuguese champions in the last 12 seasons since the departure of Jose Mourinho.

SPURS CONSIDER FORWARD OPTIONS
Tottenham will turn to FC Basel striker Breel Embolo if they get frustrated in their pursuit of Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi.
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his interest in Batshuayi, who has also been linked to West Ham, but Spurs cannot offer him a guaranteed starting spot with Harry Kane the club’s first-choice striker.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Spurs have identified 19-year-old Embolo, who has scored 30 goals in 86 appearances for Basel, as a possible alternative.
Man Utd and Bayern Munich are also reportedly watching Emoblo, who was the subject of a rejected £19m bid from Wolfsburg in January.

WEST HAM BID FOR BACCA
West Ham have submitted a £15m bid for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to Sky sources.
However, it is understood the Colombian forward, who turns 30 in September, is valued at £19m by the Serie A club.
Bacca scored 18 league goals in his first season with the Rossoneri after joining in a £21.3m deal from Sevilla last summer.
