LAMPS BACKS JOSE
Frank Lampard has tipped his former boss Jose Mourinho to be a success at Manchester United and says he will bring the "X Factor" back to Old Trafford.
"Jose will have a massive effect at United," he told The Sun. "He knows how to get a team winning by putting his own imprint on them. His personality reflects his teams and, looking from afar, Manchester United have needed that.
"They had a lot of quality in their squad but not much oomph. He has a base there but will bring in players and he will galvanise players. Jose gives them the X Factor - he did that at Chelsea. I know it didn't end perfectly there but I can see him succeeding at United."

Millwall slam fans after violent scenes mar League One play-off final against Barnsley at Wembley
BY TYRONE MARSHALL
Monday 30th May 2016
Millwall fans stormed through a police barrier to attack Barnsley supporters in the final seconds of the Tykes' League One play-off final victory
Police and stewards try and hold back Millwall fans at Wembley
The League One play-off final ended with violent scenes in the stands as Millwall supporters broke through a police cordon to try and attack Barnsley fans.
The Tykes were 3-1 up at Wembley with seconds to go when a group of Millwall fans in the top tier of the national stadium tried to force their way past the police to get at rival supporters.
A large number of Barnsley supporters were forced to flee the area to avoid trouble as Millwall fans threw punches as they tried to get through the line of police and stewards.
Millwall have since condemned the actions of their supporters and have promised to issue a life ban to anyone found guilty of being involved in the trouble.
A statement read: "Millwall Football Club deplores the actions of a small minority of its fans during the second-half of Sunday's League One Play-Off Final.
"Such behaviour is unacceptable and anyone found guilty of disorder will face life bans from the football club."
The Football Association have also said they will be working closely with both clubs and the police to try and identify the trouble makers.
"The FA condemns the disorder caused by a small number of fans at yesterday’s League One Play Off final between Barnsley and Millwall," they said in a statement.
"We will work closely with the clubs, the Football League and the Met Police to identify those involved and take appropriate action.
"We would like to take this opportunity to praise the actions of our stewards and the police, who responded responsibly under provocation."

SAINTS KEEN ON LONG STAY
Southampton are considering offering Shane Long a new improved contract to deter Liverpool and Spurs making a bid for the Irish international, says the Daily Mirror.
Long struck 10 times for the Saints last season, form which is believed to have put him on the wanted list of Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino.
The Spurs boss was in Dublin on Friday to see Long score for the Republic against the Netherlands, but Southampton are desperate to keep hold of the 29-year-old.

AGENT DAMPENS CELTIC TALK
Joe Allen's agent has downplayed suggestions Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is about to be reunited once again with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
The pair also worked together at Swansea City, prompting speculation north of the border the new Parkhead boss would make Allen a top target.
But the Welshman's representative isn't convinced the Scottish Premiership champions could afford the 26-year-old.
Glenn Corcoran explained to the Daily Record: "If Liverpool were willing to sell – and that is a big ‘if’ because I’ve not had that conversation with the club – they would ask for too much money for him.
“I don’t know if Celtic at this moment would be willing to spend that sort of money and the wages would also be a massive issue.”

RASHFORD AGREES NEW UNITED DEAL

The deal will see a big pay rise for the 18-year-old, who burst into the first team last season under Louis van Gaal and has already forced himself into the England squad.
Fellow youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has also penned a new Old Trafford contract until 2020.
Manchester United have an option to extend both deals for another year.

PELLEGRINI HINTS AT RETIREMENT
Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has told the Guardian he might quit the game if an "interesting" job offer doesn't materialise.
The Chilean is on the market for a new role after being replaced at the Etihad by Pep Guardiola and is one of the leading candidates for the current Everton vacancy.
But should the 62-year-old miss out on the Toffees post, it could spell the end of his managerial career.
Pellegrini said: "If I don’t have a really interesting option I will stop until I find one. If I have to stop (completely), I will stop.
"It can be now, (until) December, one year or for ever. Of course, I would miss it. The challenge keeps me alive.”
