Current Leeds manager Steve Evans will meet with chairman Massimo Cellino to discuss his future at the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

His position has been under speculation for a while with the trigger happy chairman looking to sack him and bring another man in for next season.

Evans has done a decent job at Leeds helping them recover from a bad start under Uwe Rosler to finish comfortably in mid table.

But the controversial chairman Massimo Cellino is not known for the virtue of patience and Evan’s future looks to be elsewhere with Cellino interviewing new managers as we speak.

Karl Robinson was top of the list with the MK Dons boss linked strongly showing his good work at the MK Dons has not gone unnoticed. But negotiations broke down between Robinson and Cellino leading to him being out of the running.

Cellino also approached Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke, who has led his side to consecutive promotions, but Clarke has rejected the offer in favour of managing League One Rovers next season.

With these setbacks Cellino may have to stick with Evans for the time being and keep him in place which would be a popular decision with fans who think Evans has done a decent job given the circumstances of Cellino’s whirlwind ownership.

Clarke has agreed a new three-year-deal at Bristol Rovers so Cellino needs to review his options so his meeting with Evans will help with that who also wants to be informed about his future.

Evans has spoken out that he needs closure from Cellino over whether he is going to keep his job or not.

“It’s been a difficult situation as you can imagine,” said the Leeds head coach. “I respect the fact that Mr Cellino and the board have a decision to make.

“But in terms of that process, it’s now time I must consider my options and in the week ahead I’ll have a meeting with Mr Cellino and see where I’m going.I now need to establish in the next week or two if I have a plan going forward with Leeds United Football Club.”

Think managers turning them down as they know they will be sacked quite quickly, also the way the chairman is treating Evans is shocking to be honest. Interviewing managers while he's still in the job and making it public,

If Evans has any dignity he should walk away.

think he's staying as he'll probably be entitled to his contract being paid up if he's sacked
