' EX CARDIFF CITY PLAYER £6.5MILL MOVE '

MADNESS IN MY OPINION/NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND VIRTUALLY FAILS EVERYWHERE HE GOES.

STEVEN CAULKER TIPPED FOR PALACE MOVE £6.5MILL :o

Saturday 28th May 2016

Steven Caulker could be on his way to Crystal Palace from QPR in a £6.5million move, according to the Guardian.

The defender, who joined the Hoops from Cardiff for £8m two years ago, spent last season on loan with Southampton and then Liverpool.

However, he struggled to make an impact at either club and now looks poised to be handed another Premier League lifeline by the Eagles.

Alan Pardew is determined to boost his defensive options knowing Adrian Mariappa and Brede Hangeland are both free agents, while Martin Kelly is also reportedly attracting attention from Sunderland and West Brom.

One of the worst defenders in the Premier league....how countless managers can't see it is ridiculous

I wouldn't say worst, but he is no more than a lower half Premier League player. He should be playing at Championship level really but has priced himself out of that.
If Palace sign him, they will have 3 of our relegated team in their squad. No wonder they can't get anywhere

If he wasn't English he would be a 500k championship player.

Manga and Connolly are both better defenders. We're lucky, and I hope we keep them.

did well at spurs and swansea, was tasked with holding together and captaining a very poor defensive unit here at a very young age (albeit he was being paid millions to do so), and again was in a relegation team with QPR. and then he barely played at southampton and liverpool.

the reason he's getting a chance again is because of the potential he showed at swansea and spurs. people forget he's only 24, the same age as wilshere, who will keep getting chances until by the time you know it he's 33 and his career has passed him by, whilst earning tens of millions.
