Fri May 27, 2016 3:49 pm

Leeds United asked current Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke to consider being their manager and it was a NO,but a YES to Bristol Rovers :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce that Darrell Clarke has agreed to remain at The Memorial Stadium as manager and has agreed a new, improved, three-year contract which will make him the highest paid manager in the club’s history.

There has been speculation all week that Darrell might be leaving following an approach by Leeds United to take him to Elland Road.

Darrell believes that the ambitions of Bristol Rovers match his own and is looking forward to the challenge of preparing the club for life back in Sky Bet League One for the 2016/17 campaign.

Good on him - Leeds would sack by October if they weren't top anyway - silly fookers :ayatollah:

The best option for him. Leeds is a madhouse and makes our situation look almost normal ! :bluebird:

Clarke is a great young manager. Started off down the road from me in Salisbury and did a great job. Went to Rovers and got relegated after only a few games in charge. They stuck with him and now 2 promotions later they are going well. They have a fairly wealthy owner now as well and if he stays he will be backed in the transfer market. If he went to dirty Leeds he'd be sacked if he lost 2 on the bounce.

I've got respect for him after that.

Most lower league managers would see the size of Leeds as a club and the fact that it's a chance to manage in the Championship, so wouldn't hesitate in taking the job.

But he's actually got sense and realised he's got a better thing going at Bristol Rovers. Not many would do that.
