Cardiff City paid approx £5 million for Bruno Manga

Despite plenty of speculation Cardiff City have confirmed they have not received any enquiries about star defender Bruno Manga.

With just a year now left on his deal with the Bluebirds, the 27-year-old centre-half is already being linked with a move away from the Welsh capital this summer.

Manga is reportedly a target for a clutch of Premier League sides with Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham and the Bluebirds’ arch-rivals Swansea City all said to be interested in the Gabon international.

Manga’s agent, Yvan Le Mee, said recently: “All I can tell you is that Premier League clubs are interested. With what he showed at Cardiff for two years, it is logical that Bruno is attracting the interest of the world.”

Manga is also reportedly in line for a return to France. Toulouse are said to be interested in signing him and Rennes have reportedly already made contact with the player. Rennes are now managed by Christian Gourcuff, who used to manage Manga at Lorient, the club the defender joined the Bluebirds from in September 2014.

But despite all the speculation, sources at Cardiff insist they have so far received no enquiries at all about Manga.

One of the best defenders we've had at Cardiff City FC. We must do our very best to keep him at the club.

If we can keep Bruno Ecuélé Manga and bring another top quality centre back, then we have a covered a major area defensively.

Centre back was 1 area where I felt we didn't need to improve this season if we kept hold of Manga, but with Turner released and Manga possibly being sold we look short unless Trollope thinks any of the youngsters are good enough.
