i know many years ago but that is an indicator of the potential of this club, massive imo and if we were to have a long run in the premier league like the jacks have had and have a bit of success then we could get 40,000 through the turnstiles in the future too, just need to get there! cardiff and the valleys is a massive catchment area and fans would come in their droves if cardiff were an established top flight team as shown by them figures.

I agree. Pity the season we had in the Premier League was a disaster for so many reasons which continue to cause problems now, meaning that unfortunately a return to the top division seems a long long way off.

hopefully trollope can build something good here now and surprise a lot of people but needs some backing from the board to do that too. nobody expected bournemouth, blackpool, swansea to get to the premiership when they did. maybe we can be that team this year.

Us and Preston very similar clubs. Big in the old days and f**k all now.

Back in those days football was a working man's game where nearly everyone could afford their Saturday afternoon out. Times have changed now, and a lot of that traditional support has been priced out of the game. I am not convinced we could ever return to those sort of days with the unemployment and low wages in the valleys where a lot of that support came from.

I do agree the club has massive potential for large attendances.
We have to remember though that back in the day, football was a working class game and affordable.

Cardiff is the 7th largest city in the English League, bigger than Newcastle, Leicester etc with a catchment of 1.5million. We sold out games in Premiership even though we were crap? If we were a regular top 6 side in Premiership we would be looking for a 60k stadium.

I don't think so tbh, The 'new' fans that fill the stadium will get bored once Premiership football loses it's appeal, especially at the prices clubs demand at elite level

Rubbish, Liverpool and Manchester are not much bigger than Cardiff and they both support TWO top Premiership clubs.Success is the key and we haven't had it consistently since the 1920's?
