' EX CARDIFF CITY PLAYER NOT HAPPY ABOUT PAUL TROLLOPE '

By Nathan Blake

Sunday 22nd May 2016

For me, the appointment of Paul Trollope heralds the fear that not a lot is going to change at Cardiff City next season.

I know there are a lot of supporters out there disgruntled by the decision and I can’t blame them. I feel the same way, I can see why people might feel aggrieved.

Personally I would have preferred to see someone from outside the club brought in, but sadly it seems the way Cardiff is run right at present that is just not possible.

An outside man is going to want his transfer budgets in place, his say on the players, who comes, who goes.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not having a go at Trollope, I know him, I played with him for Wales a few times and he’s a nice guy.

I would never have picked him out then as potential management material, but that happens the whole time in football. People have their own character and personality and respond to different things in different ways. People change and learn over the years.

Trollope is a very good coach, but I just can’t see how he is going to be able to radically shake things up ahead of the Bluebirds’ next campaign.

We are all entitled to our opinions but what good does it do to come out with negativity against our new manager? I honestly don't see what he expects to achieve.
Mr Trollope is now our manager nothing we say will change it so why not wish the guy all the best and get behind him

He comes across as being an arrogant know all these days! Could do without his comments TBH! Give Trollope a chance to prove himself as the main man at City!

Blake fully entitled to his opinion and a lot of people agree with him.

We'll still be there next season, we'll support the team and we'll give the new manager a chance but I don't see why everyone has to pretend that they're 100% happy with the appointment of Trollope.

For every fan who's writing off Trollope before he's started there's another one who seem to think he's going to get us promoted immediately.

As usual, the truth will probably be somewhere inbetween.

Everyone has different opinions about all aspects of the game. It's irrelevant if we agree or not, he is entitled to express an opinion in exactly the same way we all express our opinions on this forum. I doubt if Trollope gives a hoot what Blake or anyone else says. He is not stupid, he knows that nearly every time a manager of any club is appointed, not everyone will be over the moon about it. It comes with the job, and I doubt that he will lose any sleep over it.

I disagree, he should find something positive to say to help unite the fan base! Let's all be positive about Trollope and give him the chance he deserves! We all need to be together to stand a chance of being successful again!

It happens at every club. You will never get every single person united. If it can happen at the likes of Arsenal and Man U it will happen everywhere.

I agree with you to an extent Steve but in all my years of following City (and that's a huge amount of years) I''ve never seen such a divided fan base! It's not good for the club or our future. Blake as a reporter and ex-player should show and encourage a united front to try and repair the damage done by our owner and his crew! We will be stronger and more successful as one and not divided!

We as fans all have our own opinions on the situation. Blakey has been nothing but negative towards the city hierarchy for quite some time. He clearly knows everything that's wrong with the club, clearly feels he knows how to be a manager, claims to understand tactics and formations and yet clearly he is simply bitter about being out of the game entirely. Put your money where your mouth is, give coaching or management a go and let us all be the judge of your expertise....playing the same broken record in a bid to gain a blakey's bandwagon....no time for it

Re: ' EX CITY PLAYER NOT HAPPY ABOUT PAUL TROLLOPE '

let's try to be honest about the situation, I read posts on this forum pretty much saying this squad needs to be ripped apart. We were nowhere near the required standard needed for promotion, to finish where we did was an over-achievement if anything.

I am giving him a chance, his interviews so far are encouraging. Blakey might be right for all we know, but, Trollope is aware it seems that the squad has to have more quality in it to be serious about progression.

Think the main beef about Blake is he always says negative things about city nothing positive regardless of news! Everyone is entitled to opinion but surely being perpetually negative is a bad trait to have when reporting on your ex club ?
