The Spectator Debate about the EU Referendum, video

Sun May 22, 2016 11:43 am

This was aired a couple of weeks ago and Daniel Hannon's speech was simply superb!

The lineup:
Dan Hannan, Nigel Farage and Kate Hoey (for leave) vs Nick Clegg, Liz Kendall and Chuka Umunna (for remain). Andrew Neil chaired.

The leave campaign simply blow them away! Video debate below.

What a surprise spectator being a eurosceptic mag. Falling on the side of leave. I said it before I really worry how brain washed leave people are on a few policies and loads of what ifs. Lucky it brainwashing reaches a very small number of people less that 50k subscribers. Thank god :-)

The only brainwashing going on is from the scaremongering political establishment.

The establishment are running scared because the reality is Leave are in the lead, and the establishment are producing false information saying its about 50-50.

Cameron won't go into a head to head debate with any leave Tory MP's, WHY, because he will be hammered!!!

I've said in other posts they both as bad each other. The point I was making is Gaz after being brain washed is now trying out of desperation to brain wash others on here. Which is surprising as he says above the leave campaign are cruising to victory.
You don't see me trying to push my own agaenda on to others? As I respect people to make they own informed choices through research rather than ramming my views down they throat. Not to dissimilar to how he belives the eu behave. How ironic. ;-)

I have asked gaz in another thread why he wanted to leave but no answer of his own. Easier to copy and paste what has been spoon fed to him. But like hearding sheep doesn't know why he following the sheep in front could be good could be bad. But questioning things would shows some independent thought.

I'm willing to bet you're for staying in if that's the case have the courage of your convictions and say so

Well I've openly said in an other thread I was going to vote leave. But realise I was going to decide the country future on 3 or 4 policies that in reality won't change anyway. So now I'm voting to stay in as I realised I was scaremongered. and brain washed in to leaving with no evidence that things will be better. The only chance leave have got of winning is lack of voters turnout to say they want to stay in. Because 100% of people who want out will vote. Where maybe 60% of people who are happy as we are will vote.

I think if there's not a voters turnout of at least 97% of people the vote should not count as it's not a true representation. I sti think there's be enough votes to stay in. But if every one voted. Staying in would win by a huge majority.

I'm looking forward to it especially to see what numbers turn out. Lack of interest because both options are shit is the only chance the leave circus have. ;-)

Listen up 77.

There are many reasons to leave, for example, the European Arrest warrant, many of our laws are made in Brussels, trade agreements, immigration and so on. Each one is an affront to democracy!

My main reason though is accountability and democracy. The EU does neither! Now, if you would like to give me one valid reason for staying in then I'd buy you a beer!

You see i grew up In Wales and moved out when I was seventeen and I now reside in England. I grew up in the sixties and seventies and I no longer recognise Cardiff or many parts of England. The UK today is a lot less democratic than it was in 1980. I like Europe, but I don't want to be governed by them. For me it's pretty simple, this referendum is about regaining our democracy or voting for a fully fledged dictatorship!

This is not a general election, this is a battle for Wales and Great Britain (or what is left of it) Lose, and it will be the end of Britain in my opinion. I view people who are voting to remain, either ignorant, plain stupid, unpatriotic or traitors!!

I don't represent anyone, and this is only my view of course.

Unfortunately none of those things will change if we leave.
You really think immigration will change for one?? You think we still won't allow immigrants in?? You living in the clouds if you think that's the case in my opinion. How ever the vote goes the effects won't reLly effect you anyway so it's like you voting on something that doesn't concern you. But that's the way it works.

And for my beer I have to vote stay to keep my job. To keep my home and look after my family or I be on the benifits line with all the others that lose they job because of cutting our tie. :-(

Wheres good for you for the beer? What part of England you live in??

77, I have a home and a Job and a family. Nothing will be effected. The EU needs us more than we need it. We export 44% and import 56%. BMW, Audi and Mercedes, Citroen, Renault, all those French wines and perfumes, farming produce and so on.

The EU (Germany & France) will not risk their industries just because we've decided to cut the umbilical cord.
Common sense will prevail - all will be fine - have faith in your country and countrymen! We have some of the most talented people in the world, great entrepreneurs, inventors and workers. I have 100% confidence in our country's ability to take it to the rest of the world - just like we used to.

I want my kids to have a better future, a future where this country decides what's in our best interests - and what is not!

New Zealand and Australia ( former colonies) cannot believe whats happened to the Mother nation. We are Great Britain - not some tin pot nation that lies down and takes it up the @$$. We have lost our way because of sell-out unpatriotic politicians - and they don't represent me or my views. I want out and I want my country back, not 50 or 75% of it - I want 100% returned to the people!

I think you owe me not one beer, but several barrels!!! ;)

I will lose my job there no doubt about it. My company has said t will pull out of uk if it pulls out. I personally belive it make no difference in or out we be governed by Europe whether it directly or indirectly. On immigration imports exports etc. I'm sure our country will vote in. As you said have faith In. Our country.

I can make the East Midlands for my beer ;-)
