LIVERPOOL IN FOR DRINKWATER £14MILLION

22/05/16

Liverpool are keen to sign £14million-rated midfielder Danny Drinkwater from Premier League Champions Leicester City, according to the Daily Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly impressed with Drinkwater’s contribution to Leicester’s title triumph and had his analysis team at Liverpool compile stats on the 26-year-old star.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri will resist any attempts to entice away his key players this summer.

And although he would miss out on Champions League football former Manchester United youth star Drinkwater is looking to the future and could be open to offers.

Leicester's biggest fight yet as they try and hold onto their stars.Perhaps the lure of CL football next season will keep him there.

On a different point, anyone know how Gary Medel has been doing this season?

I agree and it will really test them.

No, but it would be interesting to know?

I initially thought that Leicester would fight tooth and nail to keep their players together as a group for their assault of the Champions League

But then I thought to myself that if they fail to progress far and their league form/position isn't the same as this past season, then most of these players will never hold such value as they do now!

We've seen Southampton 'cash in' on one or two players in the past yet remain competitive and it may well be that Leicester do the same this summer?

Drink water at £14m? That surprises me, if only because I think (like others) he is a reasonable player who fits into a very well to a very good Claudio Ranieri system ;)

Unfortunatly football needs to be run like a business as I'm sorry to say last season was a one off for Leicester.

£14m is good price and I would take the money.
