Hibernian have just beaten Rangers 3-2 in the Scottish Cup Final.

Hibs fans then invaded the pitch and immediately went over to Rangers fans. Police horses on the pitch to try and calm everything down. Hibs fans removed posts at their end.

Six Rangers players were attacked by Hibs fans.

RANGERS Football Club is shocked at the disgraceful behaviour of Hibs fans at full time.

Rangers players and staff were assaulted by these fans who invaded the pitch and in the interests of their safety could not return to the pitch for the medal presentation.

There can be no place for the violent behaviour witnessed at the end of the Final and Rangers fully expect the Scottish Football Association and Police Scotland to launch an investigation to find out where security measures failed.

The Club would like to commend Rangers fans for the restraint they showed under severe provocation.

SIX Rangers players and assistant boss Davie Weir were attacked as Hibs' Scottish Cup triumph turned ugly.

Hibs fans surged onto the pitch on the final whistle to celebrate as their team won the Cup for the first time in 114 years.

But the party mood soon turned nasty as Rangers supporters flooded onto the Hampden turf to confront them.

Whilst I cannot comment on the players or coaching staff who occurred injury during the invasion I will say if you're just watched your team win a cup you've been chasing for 114 years would your first instinct be to enter the playing area and start fighting ?


During the match Rangers Fans were heard taunting Hibernian Manager Alan Stubbs about his battle with Testicular Cancer "he's only got one ball" was heard on several occasions.

Now I watched the match and the scenes at the end were reminiscent of the Leeds ending, but the violence that happened did not start until Rangers fan entered the pitch, prior to that all what I saw was Hibs Fans in dream land.

I'm sorry, but I can't take you seriously on the above point. Would you prefer we pretend it didn't happen and ignore the fact that the idiots are out there?

The seriousness of people running onto the pitch (something some even on this Forum seem to think is alright) is immense and the actions of many (certainly not all) Hibs fans highlights that and is IMHO (and it appears others) worthy of being made a 'Sticky'

The potential for 'issues' at Euro 2016 is real and it needs proactive and not reactive addressing. Reports and threads like this can only help in bringing awareness and realisation to both supporters and authorities and hopefully help ensure that your trip (and that of others) is as safe and as risk free as is possible

With an enormous Group fixture between Wales and England in a small town/stadium in France to come, I sincerely hope the events at Hampden Park focus the minds of all concerned and fans of all nations can enjoy the tournament for the football rather than the antics of the few idiots attending!

No doubt but I was lead that as it being a sticky it be a major cup final expecting to read about trouble at the FCB vBD final.

Don't see the big fuss about this thought it was a good read and i dont think it would influence me or any other poster to go out of there way and start a fight with the next foreign supporter we see

Stop being so dramatic,Come on as if fellow Welsh fans will see this post/board and go on the rampage in France. I've been on this board a while now and it's never influenced me to do something I didn't wanna do. Great post. I was at the game, pitch invasion understand able after 114 years of hurt but some of the scenes were unacceptable . It annoys me that Rangers are making out that they've never been any problem to anyone but I remember years ago in Manchester they were causing all sorts of problems . I hear Rangers going on about they still have their dignity etc but every game they are singing songs like Billy boys and the sash it's true disgrace I'm not defending what some fans did but I can't accept they are what they are making out.

Yes Annis the goal that saw the winner has been dismantled and bits stolen also big patches of turf missing.
Lots of over indulged Hibs fans took some souvenirs home.
